Over the weekend I managed to remove my Jib halyard from the mast!!
Anyone, have a good method of feeding it back through?
One idea was to hoist myself up the mast using the mainsheet and drop a weight attached to fishing line down the mast and then try to hook onto it.
Any better Scrapheap challenge methods!!

The method we used to get a co-axial cable down the mast was to send a thin chain (the sort used to attach plugs to sinks) down the mast attached to some whipping twine, and then guide it down with a magnet. This had the advantage that it was easy to get out of the hole the other end, although it should be less of a problem for a halyard.
This was done with the mast down, so your idea may be more suitable for a raised mast.
Even if you do not use a magnet, the chain would make a suitable weight, as it would be easier to remove at the base of the mast.
Good Luck
