Chris Bentley
Hello all,
Many of you will have noticed that your cheques for subs, boat sale advertising and other payments to us have not been banked for quite a while. The reason for this is that we, your committee, embarked on what turned out to be a very lengthy process to change the bank mandate signatories from Alan Hassell as sole signatory to myself and Catherine Hartley, our secretary, as signatories. I am delighted to announce that we have now achieved this and that your payments will now be processed. My apologies for the delay.
You may also have realised that the accounts for the year 2008-9 have not been posted on the website, together with the minutes of the AGM in Windermere last October. There are two reasons for this:
Alan was unable to supply us with accounts for the year in advance of the meeting as there was an outstanding query which has now been resolved.
We, the committee, also discussed making some areas of our website ‘private’ to members only. This area would include the AGM minutes and accounts. Amongst other reasons, we felt that these parts of our Association business should not be available to the public at large. Jack Hardie, our webmaster, is looking into this.
Meanwhile, please rest assured that your Class Association funds are in good hands and have a healthy balance – shortly to be made even more healthy when our latest bankings of subs, etc., show up.
(And if you haven’t paid, now is a very good time to do so)!
Our thanks to Alan for keeping the books in order in the absence of an elected treasurer for a very considerable length of time.
And I look forward to your nominations, or volunteers, for the post, as soon as possible.
Chris
