I know its early but we have just sent away our entry for the Scotish series in Tarbert (25-28th May) and was wondering if many other Sonatas were heading up this year? The fleet was 17 strong (the largest 0ne design fleet) in 2006 and will be a great event in preperation for the Nationals at Sunderland. We are also planning on going to Kip (12-13th May) depending on how many boats will be their. So the question is, who is going to come and play?

Hi Martin,
I’ll be at Tarbert and Kip (and Nationals and east coast long weekend at Edinburgh – see www.ecsw.org.uk) . Here’s hoping we can beat last years 17 entries for Tarbert. I guess more Sunderland boats will be coming to publicise the Nationals.
Raymarine Kip regatta is a great warm up – they were giving away handheld VHFs last year!
If anyone needs a hand storing their boats temporarily between Scottish regattas give me a shout.
B.T.W. There is a “warm up” regatta planned for Port Edgar the first weekend in May. Billed as a Kip/Tarbert warm up it promises a committee vessel start with multiple Winward/Leewards with fast turnaround. I’ll find out more and post.
If enough of us want to visit we may be able to get a deal with the marina crane.
Cheers,
Neil

Saraband will be at Kip and Scottish Series and a couple of Forth based events – no current plans for Nationals. No money left for any sails this year but red wine fund should be ok!

Miss Elainey Us will be at Scottish Series, Springboard at PEYC, ECSW and the Nationals – SYC. Hope to swell the fleet at these events. If we can, we’ll get to Kip.

Sounds like their could be a good northern circuit this season. We are doing ECSW as well. Does anyone know if any Northern Irish boats are coming over to Sunderland or Tarbert to push next years Nationals? Would be nice to see them. I’m also wondering how many Southern boats will be joining us. I know 5 or 6 boats made the trip south last year and it would be nice to see those efforts reciprocated.

Well the last count has 12 boats already entered for the Scottish series and we look to be the largest one design class again!!! All we need now is a few more entrys and this should be an excellent reggata…. If only I could stay away from the pubs!

Rhapsody will def be at Kip regatta, Scottish Series and possibly The nationals if we have enough holidays left to take…
