Skandia Cowes Week 2006

We are new to this yacht thing having just moved to a Snotty from Sailing Skiff’s.

We are very keen on doing Cowes week and have the entry form, but are struggling to even complete it. I note in previous years the Sonata has sailed in Class 9. We have a class one design measurement certificate but what else do we need to be able to enter, if anything?

Have already read the info on the site about Cowes week – which is useful but only goes so far….

Is there anything else we need to know?

We are planing to motor over everyday from Warsash and enjoy the week’s racing.

We entered for a couple of races last year and it was good fun. We are hoping to race the full week this year. (Scherzo)

I suggest you contact Tom White (memberships) as he has been racing Cowes for many years.

There was a plan to have a class start this year, jointly with Folkboats, but this must have gone wrong.

For a modest fee you can hire a moring for the week off the breakwater, which will relieve the daily travel from Warsash.
