“Salmon” is 21 years old & since new, I have been plagued with a minor leak on the starboard side. This is not serious but enough to soak cushions & charts.
I have checked windows, chainplates etc and recaulked the hull-deck joint with synthetic rubber, but the leak remains.
Has anyone discovered any other causes?

Bruce’s leak is a mystery to me since he seems to have checked out all the common Sonata leaks. I did have one wierd leak on my boat that might happen to other owners. There was a crack in the floor of the anchor well under the “bomb doors”, no doubt caused by foredeck crews using the anchor well as a safe refuge for their big feet. The source of the leak wasn’t apparent because there is a small bulkhead in the bow of the Mk I Sonata that was holding back the water – yes there is – go and look! I drilled a hole in this bulkhead and released half a bucket of water I’d been carrying around in the bow. I knew there was some reason I didn’t win the Nationals that year.
